Welcome to the online home of netECR. We are an independent, international network of Early Career Researchers (ECRs) working in suicide and self-harm – netECR! Through netECR, we aim to facilitate collaborations, networking, and mutual support for ECRs in the field of suicide and self-harm research.

On this website we provide information for all our activities and a space for ECRs to publish blogs on different topics such as academia, suicide prevention, research, careers advice, lived experience, and events. You can find out more by visiting the ‘About us’ page.

netECR membership is free (yay!) and is open to all ECRs engaged in and/or contributing to suicide and self-harm research. If you want to find out more about becoming part of netECR, please email us at internationalnetecr@gmail.com.

About

The netECR blog was established in July 2017 by four PhD students from across the UK. Motivated to build on connections formed online, and a shared passion for suicide and self-harm research, we initiated a blog with the aim of providing a platform for a wide range of Early Career Researcher’s (ECR) content. This content includes self-harm and suicide related topics, methodological innovations and challenges, as well as matters related to the PhD/ECR/lived experience. The blog is just one strand of the work the network does to support ECRs in the field. Learn more, get involved!
