Current research: I am currently working on a thesis investigating linguistic features of suicidal ideation in unthematic content on reddit. I am interested in finding whether there are unique linguistic features of suicidal ideation, regardless of the topic being discussed.
Research interests:
- Linguistic features of suicidal ideation and depression on social media
- Presentations of mental health on social media
- Corpus linguistics and natural language processing
Can help with: Happy to discuss organisation and time-management, whether in terms of spreadsheets, databases, or how to construct a research journal log that’s actually useful. I will happily trade these, and/or gardening tips, for insight into Python.
What’s essential to your well-being? Gardening, rock climbing, hiking, running and hockey are my “main five”, but anything that keeps me active physically, really, to balance out the active mental demands of this academic work, is essential for me.
